Govt Retracts 11 Ordinances After Opposition Withdraws Motion Against Qasim Suri

Yesterday’s successful negotiations resulted in both parties agreeing to withdraw their respective motions.

After the government dropped 11 whole ordinances in the lower house without following parliamentary procedures on November 7, the opposition filed a no-confidence motion against them and Qasim Suri.

Asad Umer, a PTI leader, said the government does not want to make the speaker and deputy speaker role’s controversial, hence the decision. PML-N’s Khawaja Asif announced the decision to take back the no-confidence motion saying that the relevant committees would go through the bills before they are passed by the house.
