Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood addressed a crowd at the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Kashmir block at Islamabad Model College for Girls, where he reiterated that reforming and uplifting the education sector is a priority for the federal government and all possible efforts were being made.
Mahmood said the government would be inducting as many as 700 teachers into schools and colleges of the federal capital, and in order to improve the level of instruction in institutions, teachers will be trained.
According to a survey conducted by the Federal Directorate of Education, out of 11,000 out-of school children, 7500 had been enrolled.
“Out-of-school children are being enrolled in schools with an aim to increase the literacy rate across the country,” said Mahmood.
He also stated that the government was working on combining the multiple curriculums into a “single national curriculum”to be introduced next year.
