What happened: In the wake of rising rape cases in the 2nd biggest province of Pakistan, the Punjab government has imposed an emergency to deal with child abusers and rapists. During a press briefing, Punjab’s Home Minister Ata Tarar said, “Punjab govt had decided to declare an emergency to deal with such cases.” Details: As the rise in rape and sexual assault cases has become a concern for the citizens, it needs prompt action.
