Former husband confesses to killing his Pakistani-American wife for her bank balance, claims Rawalpindi police

What happened:   On the 25th of December, Sajid Kiani City Police Officer Rawalpindi said,  “The husband Rizwan Habib has confessed to his crime and the suspect murdered her for her bank balance and properties.”  Rizwan Habib’s former wife Wajiha Swati, was allegedly kidnapped on the 16th of October and an FIR was registered against Rizwan by Wajiha’s eldest son. Later, Wajiha’s body was found from Hangu.  Details:   Reports suggest that Rizwan Habib and Wajiha Swati were in a property dispute before the alleged murder took place. However, the Rawalpindi police have now arrested Rizwan’s father on the charges of aiding and abetting the murder. According to reports, the Wajiha Swati’s ex-husband confessed during interrogation; subsequently, a new investigation team was formed.  More: Currently, Rizwan Habib is in police custody as the court granted him a physical remand. It is pertinent to mention that Rizwan was not immediately arrested after the FIR as police claimed that he had cooperated with the investigation team.
