What happened: On Monday, Former hockey World Cup winner, Naveed Alam, passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Details : Naveed Alam was a former member of Pakistan’s hockey team that won the World Cup in 1994 in Sydney. He was diagnosed with blood cancer at Shaukat Khanum Hospital Lahore. According to his daughter Hajra Naveed, Shaukat Khanum’s doctors had given an estimate of Rs four million for the treatment. His condition worsened after undergoing chemotherapy at Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore on Sunday. He was pronounced dead on Monday. He served as the head coach of Bangladesh national team and also worked as Director Domestic of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). Click here to see more from Propergaanda.
