What Happened: On Monday, Foodpanda workers staged a protest in Lahore over the inhumane and overly exploitative practices of the company. They demanded fairer wages and better working conditions from the company.

Details : The delivery riders claimed they were receiving less in their payments per delivery due to the company’s supposed unfair grading system. Furthermore, the riders also reported that the company baselessly cuts charges from their insurance benefits and also sets rides for far off areas without proper payment. Last month, a picture of a foodpanda rider sleeping on the sidewalks of the toad was widely circulated on the internet. The picture reflected the rider’s dire condition due to the inhumane working practice enforced by the company.
It caused an uproar on Twitter with people demanding Foodpanda to ensure better working conditions for the worker. In response foodpanda tweeted:
