What happened: Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has predicted that the 2022 first solar eclipse will take place on April 30 and May 1. This would be the first time in 2022 when Pakistan would witness the solar eclipse, and the Meteorological department said that the phenomenon wouldn’t be visible from Pakistan, though, as it would occur at midnight. Details: MET Department’s statement was quoted by a local publication, “The solar eclipse will be partial and will be visible from southern South America, parts of America, and over the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and would occur in different phases.” Apart from this, the MET has also predicted hot and dry weather across the country, with thunderstorms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, and Kashmir.
