FIA announces to take strict legal action against people sharing fake videos 

What happened: Different publications quote the Federal Investigation Agency’s spokesperson as he announced taking strict action against individuals sharing fake videos on social media. The Nation quotes the development as,  “FIA Spokesperson said that strict legal action, in the shape of imprisonment and fines, would be taken against the persons involved in making and spreading fake videos.”  Details: Subsequently, individuals were advised by the FIA to stop sharing fake videos online. It is pertinent to mention that the development came when Maryam Nawaz filed a complaint with the authority regarding doctored images of her floating on social media. However, FIA announced,  “FIA has taken notice of fake videos running on social media.”  More: On the other hand, the cybercrime experts have termed Pakistan’s cybercrime control mechanism as  faulty and needs improvement.  Previously, Rana Sanaullah had announced a crackdown against individuals defaming anyone on social media.
