In the letter a female student complains of being harassed by a Mr. Saeed in the scholarship affairs office. The student writes that she was teased and inappropriately touched by Mr. Saeed, on the morning of the 17th of November. She details that she is shocked and disgusted by that incident and requests the Vice Chancellor and the KIU administration to terminate the employment of Mr. Saeed. She further states that if something happens to her or she is harassed again then it will be the responsibility of the KIU administration as these untoward incidents are happening on campus.
This incident comes in the wake of recent protests by the students of Islamia College Peshawar against harassment of female students on campus. The Karakoram University Youth Forum in Gilgit has also recently been raising their voice against harassment of students on campus, the cancelling of scholarships and fee hikes.
