Don’t involve military in politics; COAS takes notice of propaganda campaign against Pak Army

What happened: The Chief Of Army Staff, Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, while presiding over the meeting of CORPs, principal staff officers, and formation commanders, said,  “Pakistan Army is aware of its responsibilities.”  ISPR’s statement quoted by a publication read,  “Army has always stood by the state institutions to guard them.”  Whereas, the Pak Army Chief was also briefed on personal matters, national security challenges, and measures to counter traditional non-traditional threats. Details: However, in the past couple of days, a Twitter campaign and hashtags directed toward Pakistan’s Army were witnessed on the social media, and addressing that, the ISPR said,  “The forum took notice of the recent propaganda campaign by some quarters to malign the Pakistan Army and create division between the institutions and society.”  The ISPR’s statement further added,  “Pakistan Army has always stood by the state institutions to guard them and always will..”  More: Further addressing their rumors on social media, ISPR added,  “Pakistan Army is aware of its responsibilities and shall continue to defend territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan against all internal and external threats under all circumstances.”
