Doctors urge for COVID health emergency in Karachi as hospitals run out of space

What happened: Doctors and health experts request the government to impose a health emergency in Karachi over rising COVID cases due to which various hospitals have run out of beds to accommodate COVID patients. Details: The Indus Hospital in Karachi says their COVID ward is filled out with no more space. Dr Bari of the Indus Hospital has highlighted that the situation has gone out of hand and people need to follow SOP’s and get vaccinated as soon as possible. Agha Khan Hospital is also refusing to admit any more COVID patients now. 92 per cent of the COVID cases in Karachi are of the Delta variant, with a high number of children requiring hospitalisation because of it.
