Did You Know Rs. 10.8 Billion Was Embezzled In The Hazara Motorway Project?

Murad Saeed, the Minister for Communication, while briefing the National Assembly’s session on Monday announced the Hazara Motorway will open by 15 November. The same project in which Rs. 10.8 Billion was embezzled. The minister stated he had previously requested the FIA to look into a last minute change of design and addition of a bridge on the Hazara motorway project which raked up the cost and delayed the project. PKR 10.8 billion was recovered when an internal inquiry was launched in the matter, confirmed the minister. He further confirmed undue changes were also made to Hakala-Dera Ismail Khan, Sukkur-Multan, and Lahore Abdul Hakeem motorway sections. The design changes are now complete and the motorway will be open for the public from the mid of November.
