Did you know? Oldest tortoise alive turns 190 in 2022

Details: The Guinness World Records is giving the title of the oldest living animal on land to the tortoise that was named Jonathan and was born in 1832, spending nearly two centuries on the planet earth. Previously the oldest turtle was Tu’i Malila, who lived for nearly 188 years. Also: At the same time, the Guinness World Records have said,  “His hearing though is excellent, and he loves the company of humans and responds well to his vet Joe Hollins’ voice as he associated him with a feast.”  The veterinarian who cares for Jonathan said,  “To be honest, I suspect he’s older, but we can never know.”
