What happened: A recent trend has been witnessed in different parts of Pakistan, where students from different universities are allegedly abducted, especially the Baloch people are allegedly kidnapped from different universities across Pakistan. Najeeb Rasheed, Bebagr Imdad, Fayyaz Ali, Mudassir Mahmood Naaru, and the list of enforced disappearances continue. Details: State’s failure to provide justice to the families of especially Baloch people are termed deplorable by many. AlJazeera’s report titled Why are people disappearing in Balochistan? Left a question mark on the governments in Pakistan, as they have failed to provide closure to the families over the years. Subsequently, a report issued by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan claimed that 47,000 Baloch and nearly 35,000 Pashtuns had been missing in Pakistan for 20 years. It also quoted the Baloch families as, “We are not safe anywhere?” The question that we know ask: How long would it take till the families to get closure? Are ‘forceful’ ‘abductions’ the only solution?
