Video giant attributes automatic deletion of criticisms to an error in its systems. Upon receiving censorship complaints, YouTube is investigating the automatic deletion of comments criticising the Chinese Communist party.
The company claimed that the filtering was “an error” resulting from a greater reliance on automated systems during COVID-19, considering its human checkers had been sent home. The inquiry commenced following a media uproar from personalities such as tech entrepreneur Palmer Luckey.
Other Twitter users agreed with Luckey’s tweet that highlighted the removal of comments about the Communist party. Luckey had tweeted, YouTube has deleted every comment I ever made about the Wumao, an internet propaganda division of the Chinese Communist party,” and suggested the filtering appeared to be a new policy of censorship.
I very like this blog. Everything is cleared.
