CBC journalists barred from covering Israel-Palestine for demanding unbiased coverage

Two journalists from Canada’s national broadcaster have been barred from covering the ongoing Israeli apartheid regime in Palestinian territories after signing an open letter calling for fairer and unbiased coverage.

What Happened: An open letter to Canadian newsrooms on covering Israel-Palestine began circulating online on May 14th. The letter, which has now been signed by more than 2,000 people, including many journalists, complained that Canadian media does not include enough context or Palestinian voices when covering “the ongoing nature of the Israeli occupation,” and concluded by demanding “fair and balanced coverage.”  Since the letter was published, two employees of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation told VICE World News they were barred from covering the Israeli occupation because they signed the letter. The Response:   This blatant act of media manipulation and censorship has outraged many in Canada and across the world.
