What happened: Unidentified men looted Rs. 45 million worth of gold and cash from a jewellery store in Islamabad, on Monday. The Khosar police registered a case on Tuesday, and is searching for the criminals involved in the theft.
Honey Jewellers was the store that was robbed. The robbers stole 400 tolas of gold and Rs. 4 million in cash. It is being reported as the ‘biggest robbery’ in Islamabad to date.
Traders launched a protest on Tuesday and gave the police a two day deadline to apprehend the thieves, and threatened to shut down all the markets in the city if their demand isn’t met. So far no arrests have been made in this case.
