What happened: On March 18, PTI Punjab Education Minister, Murad Raas tweeted regarding the Sindh House as he stated, “Sindh House has been turned into a Political Brothel. Political prostitutes are running in and out of this Brothel. Head Pimp – Asif Ali Bemareee.” Click here to see Raas’ tweet and people calling him out for his choice of words. Previously: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) said on March 17 that the PTI-led government was planning a ‘attack’ on Sindh House in the federal capital, a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed that the opposition was present with ‘bags full of money’ to ‘buy loyalty of government MPs.’ The PPP’s joint statement also asked the Sindh government to provide them with housing and security in the Sindh House, claiming that their lives were in danger following the “terror incident” at the Parliament Lodges in Islamabad. Twitter reacts: Twitterati called Raas out for his foul language as people emphasised that he’s the education minister and shouldn’t stoop low as activist Nayab Jan retweeted, “Education Minister :)” Another user (twt/VodooBabe) wrote, “Hi Raas. Did you check your portfolio? It said “education minister,” right? And this is what you consider appropriate language? Promised myself no more mad-tweeting but #PTIGovernment really truly is/was the worst possible thing that happened to Pakistan. And that’s saying a lot! What else: Writer/Blogger, Riaz Ali Turi (@ratoori) also took notice of Raas’ infamous status, “Unfortunately, this is the Education Minister of Punjab -the largest province of Pakistan. Dear people of Pakistan, get up and get rid of these idiots before Niazi and his brigade turn your new generation into thugs, beasts, vulgars and extremists,” says Turi. Bushra Gohar, a former Parliament member, wrote, “#Sharamnak! #Pakistan’s #PuppetProvincialMinister using abusive language against members of Parliament. He is basically following his leader, the #PuppetPM who has pulled politics to a low level. #Pindi Selectors are responsible for bringing the country down. #GayaPakistan”
