Beat the heat: Driver grows garden on his rickshaw roof

What happened: A rickshaw driver in New Delhi grew a garden with numerous plants on his rickshaw’s roof just to beat the scorching summer heat. On his yellow and green autorickshaw, Mahendra Kumar planted various plants on his rickshaw to keep the passengers cool during the hot summer season. TheNews quote Mahendra Kumar,  “The thick patch of green keeps the vehicle cool even when the temperature is touching 45 degrees celsius, in New Delhi.”  Details: The 48-year-old rickshaw driver in New Delhi has grown more than 30 varieties of shrubs, flowers, and crops, as the commuters applaud Mahendra for his services and dedication. At the same time, commuters and passers stop by his vehicle to click pictures and take selfies with the moving garden. More:   In his interview with AFP, the driver said,  “Nearly two years ago, I had this idea of growing plants on the roof to give relief to my passengers. And it is like a natural AC. My passengers are so happy after the ride that they don’t mind paying an extra 10 or 20.”
