Banned from Pakistan cricket, Salman Butt appointed coach of Singapore cricket team 

What happened: The former test captain of Pakistan and banned from cricket for a spot-fixing case Salman Butt has been appointed to a coaching role with Singapore’s national team. The 37-year-old former cricketer has been appointed as the consultant coach to the Singapore Cricket Association. Details: Singapore Cricket Association, in a press release, said,  “Salman Butt would bring in a wealth of experience to the Singaporean side.”  The Chief Executive of SCA Saad Khan Janjua said,  “Butt is an experienced player with the experience that can push the players to the next level.”  Janjua also added,  “Butt would inspire the Singaporean players.”
