Request for suo-moto: Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail of the Supreme Court requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the situation as the fire poses serious threats to wildlife and the environment. He added that the chief justice should issue orders to deal with the situation effectively. Update: While chairing a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Climate Change, Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman asked NDMA to assist in putting out the fire in Balochistan.
