Australian Comedian Posts Islamophobic Tweet About Zayn Malik And That’s Just The Tip Of The Iceberg

Australian comedian Alex Williamson has taken the internet by storm, and not in a good way. The hashtag #FireAlexWilliamson went viral on twitter last night because of some questionable things he said about the K-Pop band, BTS. This led to a stream of his other Islamophobic, racist, xenophobic, predatory tweets being revealed, and we just have one thing to say: It’s not funny.

I slamophobia is not funny.

There are certain things you just don’t joke about. Like CONSENT. Once again, it’s not funny. It’s not comedy.

There’s a word for people who joke about consent:

Rapists

Absolutely disgusting

……..

There were also Racist tweets:

This isn’t the first time a comedian has been called out for being problematic. Last year, comedian Kevin Hart had to step down as a host for the Oscars because of a few homophobic tweets that resurfaced.

Roseanne Barr also received a lot of well-deserved backlash:

As a comedian, differentiating between problematic and funny is crucial. And it’s not hard. It’s 2019. Educate yourself.
