Details: The account wrote that violence takes different shapes and forms and it’s a tool used by perpetrators to enforce their dominance. They further shared how the process of lodging an FIR and getting the medical examination dome was a ‘tiresome’ procedure, “At PIMS hospital, the Medical Legal Officer (MLO) was not present, and subsequently they did not have a rape kit available.” Furthermore, the Azadi March admin urged how hard it is to get access to justice in Pakistan as it can only be ensured when it recognizes the ‘most marginalized.’ Why it matters: Aurat Azadi March, Islamabad insisted the state to take actions against transgender violence and ensure protection to the trans-community, “provide gender sensitive mechanisms for implementation of the laws that are available,” they added.
