What happened: The Additional Sessions Judge Atta Rabbani on February 15 noted that the deadline for the completion of the Noor Mukadam case had been extended for another four weeks. It is pertinent to mention that this is the 3rd time when Noor Mukadam’s case deadline has been extended. Whereas on Tuesday, Zakir Jaffer completed his arguments in court, and his lawyer noted that his client was illegally arrested.
Details: Zakir’s lawyer, Basharatullah, quoted by Express Tribune, said, “The police illegally arrested his client and he was on interim bail.” The development was further cited, “Noor Mukadam’s contact with her mother more than once has been proved by the CDRS. My client even did not know what was happening in his house,” quoting the lawyer.
More: At the same time, according to Express Tribune, Zakir’s lawyer said, “Zakir Jaffer and Shaukat Mukadam had a 10-minute call on July 20. The investigator did not write anything on it. Does the investigator ask what you (Shaukat Muqaddam) talked about for 10-minutes?…”
