What happened:  As different diseases approach the planet earth, burning fossil fuels becomes another factor, reducing life expectancy by approximately 2.2 years. A report by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago has now alerted that air pollution due to burning fossil fuels is primarily responsible for decreasing life expectancy.  Details:  Whereas, the  Air Quality Life Index  has alerted that air pollution takes a collective of seventeen billion years of life, and if it is reduced, this will increase the global average life expectancy from 72 years to 74.2 years. At the same time, passive smoking decreases life expectancy by 1.9 years on average, and  “alcohol and drug use reduce life expectancy by nine months on average.”  Subsequently, unsafe water and sanitation also affect life expectancy globally.
