ACF distributed free humane harnesses among the kindest donkey owners of the country

What happened: On June 9, Pakistan’s largest animal rescue service, ACF Animal Rescue distributed free humane harnesses and carts to donkey owners who treat their animals kindly, “We know the general idea is that donkey owners are cruel to their animals, and sadly, that is often the case. However, in our working closely with donkey owners over so many years, we have met some very kind people who take excellent care of their animals!” ACF wrote on Instagram. Details: ACF chose 9 donkey owners who feed and treat their creatures well, “They are mindful that donkeys are living beings and avoid over-burdening them.” The initiative: The organisation wrote that they’ve been conducting medical camps, ration drives, but wanted to come up with something that has long term benefits, “So we devised a model for a sturdy cart and humane harness.” ACF stated that the cart costs Rs.35,000 and the harness is for Rs.5000, “We know it’s pricey but it’s a one time cost that will protect the donkey from injury and help a man and his entire family of 5-8 members that rely on the donkey as their only source of income.”

More: They further thanked @soortycsr for sponsoring the donkey medical camp and gave a huge shout out to their Director of Operations, Wajiha Ahmed for ‘being a woman in a sea of men and distributing these harnesses with excellence and professionalism.’
