A Street Art Festival Comes to Lahore

In the heart of the city of fresco art and Naqshi, an event from the parallel artistic spectrum took place as 2019 kicked off. D’art festival organised by DISCOVER-a lifestyle and culture platform by MINT PR and MINT Concept, gave a visual feast of street art and pop culture to its audience. This event provided a live canvas to 25 international and local artists from different walks of life. Ace muralists, visual artists, musicians, designers and makeup artists added their own hues to celebrate street art. Fashion designer Wardha Saleem’s ‘Avant Garde’ and Fahad Hussayn’s ‘Nightmentia’ art couture color palettes were a vibrant display of muzzled voices. Looks done by International makeup and hair artist Saima Rashid Bargfrede did justice to the messages carved out by both the designers. Murals and graffiti exhibited by 12 acclaimed artists namely, Haider Ali, Kamil Rahim, Neil Uchong (SHADE), Sanki King introduced the audience with a bold and appealing form of art. Alluring digital art installations by Tapu Javeri and Suleman Faisal embodied cultural and architectural elements. International stomp group “The Stomp Drummers Crazy Orchestra” stood contrary to the elitist art in their vivid display of the fusion of Street and Pop Art. Pakistan’s own and now internationally recognised teen acrobats group ‘The Parkour group’ kept audience glued to their stunts.
