Trainee Sub-Inspector Fahad Iftikhar Virk submitted his resignation after being abused by Lahore Capital City Police Officer CCPO Umer Sheikh for speaking in English, The Current news reported on Thursday.
According to the copy of the resignation acquired by The Current news, Virk wrote in his resignation, “I can no longer serve this department.”
Police sources from the Lahore Capital Police department confirmed that Virk resigned after he used few words in the English language, over which CCPO lost his temper and abused him. Shiekh also called him an “angrez ki olad.”
This is not the first that CCPO made headlines for his hurtful remarks, as earlier this month, he caused public outrage for victim-blaming, after the motor-way incident.
While speaking to a private media outlet, he said, “I am shocked… you are a mother of three and the only driver late at night… She should have taken the Grand Trunk Road instead, which is densely populated,”
Further adding that the woman “should have at least checked her fuel before taking the motorway.”
