5 trans community members injured in Mansehra by unknown assailants

What happened: On March 14, a few unknown armed men opened fire on five transgender people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mansehra city. Subsequently, the injured were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex, where four of the five injured were declared critical. Details: 24News quoted the details as,  “Some unknown miscreants opened fire on transgender people and injured five of them.”  On the other hand, the FridayTimes report claimed that the five trans were shot inside their homes. Nayyab Ali’s tweet read,  “Another attack on the transgender community in Mansehra KP. Some Beelas broke into the house and opened fire.”  More: It is pertinent to mention that the attacks on the trans community have been going on in Pakistan for years, as the FridayTimes report quotes,  “Attacks on transgender people in Pakistan are not uncommon.”  At the same time, the report shared details of different incidents of violence reported against the trans community of Pakistan and added,  “The trans community in Pakistan ahs historically faced stigma, poverty, and marginalization, despite various laws which have been passed for the community’s protection.”
