21-year-old woman virtually raped by a stranger in Metaverse

What happened:   A non-profit campaign sent a 21-year-old researcher to the Metaverse in a bid to learn more about the virtual world. DailyMail quotes the incident as,  “A woman was virtually raped by a stranger in Meta’s Horizon Worlds metaverse app while another user watched and passed around a bottle of vodka.”  At the same time, the researcher stated that an hour into her using the platform, her avatar was sexually assaulted, which she described  as a “disorienting and confusing experience.”  Details: Further, the researcher was quoted by DailyMailUK as,  “It happened so fast I disassociated. One part of my brain was like wtf is happening, and the other part was like, this isn’t a real body.”  On the other hand, Meta’s spokesperson, in conversation with MailOnline, said,  “Spokesperson highlighted that the researcher did not have the Personal Boundary feature on..”
