2 Policemen Involved In Gang Rape Of A Woman From Karachi

Two of the suspects arrested are confirmed to have been police officers The six suspects for the gang rape case from Karachi appeared in court on Tuesday, and were handed over to the police to be kept in custody for 24 hours. The alleged rapists have been identified as Razzaq, Naeem, Kamran, Liaquat, and police officials, Sarfaraz (deployed at West Zone Police Headquarter) and Danish (deployed at Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station).
ASI Tahir told a private news source that all six live on the same street as the victim.

“We were able to arrest the accused on Monday morning with the help of our informants,” said ASI Tahir.

The ASI also confirmed that medical tests and collection of forensic samples were being conducted at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Meanwhile, an identity parade will be held today (Wednesday) and the police will carry the investigation forward based on whose identity is confirmed by the victim. The victim reported the case on September 29, according to which six men had barged into her house, held her at gunpoint and proceeded to rape her on turn. The men left her house at 1 pm, but continued to threaten her to stay quiet via text. The victim’s husband arrived to the scene shortly after.
