What happened: Karachi police on December 30 arrested ‘high-end’ bootleggers and recovered 113 bottles of smuggled gin and whiskey from them. SHO of Sahil Police station, Pir Shabbir, stated that the suspects Anwar and Faisal used to deliver the cases of imported liquor to customers via home delivery in luxury sedans. Details: The seized cases include Jack Daniels, Absolute Vodka, Grey Goose, Red Label, Chivas Regal, Johnnie Walker and Black Label. At the same time, the local police claimed that the bottles were to be used at New Year parties in the city. The two suspects Anwar and Faisal, have also allegedly confessed to supplying the smuggled bottle in different city areas. The main areas where the bottles were supplied include Defence Housing Authority and Clifton.
