The Faizabad protest of 2017, orchestrated by the right-wing Islamist party, Tehreek-e-Labaik held the city of Islamabad hostage for 21 days. The leaders of the TLP, including Khadim Hussain Rizvi, openly threatened, abused and promoted hatred. Rs. 163 million worth of property was destroyed during the protests. On Wednesday, Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, issued a strong worded judgement on the Faizabad sit-in. The judgement didn’t only call out the TLP for it’s misconduct but also admonished news channels, intelligence agencies and the army for their lapses.
